THROW IT RIGHT!

Getting rid of your old mobile? Are you planning to land it in a dumpster? Here's something you should know.

80% of the world's population dump their mobiles in any bin they can find. All these mobile phones end up lying with millions more in some random garage. Yes, they just lie there leaking toxic fumes into the air.

Some 20 to 50 million metric tonnes of e‐waste are generated
worldwide every year, comprising more than 5% of all municipal solid
waste, leaving behind lead, cadmium, mercury and other hazardous wastes.

Don't want to contribute to it?
Here's what you can do...

Yes. Simply recycle it.

Every mobile brand has a gazzilion outlets in every major city. Find one and throw in your mobile.

How is it going to help?

Good question!

The old mobiles are raided completely for any reusable parts.

The recycling is carried out by many different agencies and small scale companies.

One such enterprise is cellular recycler.

Cellular Recycler has been refurbishing and recycling phones in Boulder since 2003. Operations manager Jason Gelfand said the company, which employees 38 people at a large warehouse space in Central Boulder, refurbishes or recycles up to 100,000 phones each month."

This is just one of many such enterprises. Find one closest to home.

I have something you can use that can make it easier to locate places for your recycling needs.

So go ahead and dump your old mobile in a Eco-Friendly way.
Peace out!
